A Pleasant Reminder- revised

A Pleasant Reminder
Luke 24: 1-8

And they remembered
All that He said
That in 3 days He would rise from the dead
That He would suffer, be beaten and carry His cross
That sinful men would bruise Him and count Him as lost
They remembered and surely He did as He stated
Not even a day or detail belated

And so in your life can you trust Him the same?
Believe what has been promised to you in His Name?
That you’ll make it through life- influence the world
Be a blessing to others and live out the Word
Meet a like-minded treasure and truly be a friend
Experience reciprocity and fall in love again

Make an impact in your family, amongst your friends, community and nations;
Advocate for the needy and affect justly regulations;
Love the Lord your God truly to the fullest;
Operate under His anointing and give nothing less
Than your undivided devotion- your selfless sacrifice to Him;
And live a life of fulfillment and accomplishment of your dreams;
Only because He has placed those desires in you.
Wait- for surely the fulfillment of ALL His promises will you see!

Securing a man: Two Perspectives

(The World Speaking)

Step 1
Look real cute girl.
Grab ‘em with your style.
In a while
He’ll bow, and try with all his power
To at least find out your name.

Step2
Lure him with your charm.
An alarm loud enough to get his attention.
Don’t mention the interest you’ll get back
When he looks at that fat back.

Step 3
Tell him all your fears.
Be aware that he looks at all your tears
And there—he can’t get you off his mind
Cause in time you’ll attach to him like glue
As if you knew that a spiritual tie was formed and adorned
With mixed thoughts and confusion.
No illusion.
You’ve got him spirit, soul, and…

Step 4
Body.
Rock that body.
As if no one were watching.
Twist that waist
Contort your face.
Give a little kiss.
Act as if this weren’t real.
This is what you wanted right?
His advances and pseudo-romances
You thought you had the real thing.
But DING!
You woke up and you were there…
Against all you’ve ever valued…
Against all you’ve ever known…
Against every way that you have been constantly forewarned.

(God speaking)

Step 1
Live in My face.
Embrace the grace that’s poured out at My place.
Release.
Tell Me all your dreams.
Redeem, all the time not spent with Me.
Come get your healing.
Be real with Me.
I can supply all your needs
If you’d just look to me.

Step 2
Be content with where you are.
Don’t look too far.
Know now that singleness is a gift.
Use it wisely, not miserly.
Be blessed by it;
Live in My Spirit.
Find joy while it’s here—for beware
What you want may not be what you think it is…

Step 3
Wait on Me.
I guarantee a lifetime filled with glee
If you trust in Me.
I’ll give you a hunk, not a punk.
The man I’ll give you will be my heart,
Not far apart from what I’ve taught you.
He’ll be bone of your bone, flesh of your flesh.
The two of your hearts will mesh and get all entwined in love sincere—
More than you’ve ever known.
What you’ll have would be far better than you’ve ever thought,
But it all comes in time

Step 4
Read My Word.
It has all the advice you’ve ever heard.
‘A woman of virtue= a woman of praise
Who brings honor to her husband all his days.’
A woman in modesty and beauty of truth.
The diamond and pearl---the dove in the cleft of the rock.
More precious than rubies or emeralds divine.

Epilogue
That’s you, My dear, if you stay in Me.
Of truth I am actually all that you need
To secure a man and all your dreams.
Listen, My child, and abide in Me.

Jesus, the Hope of Our Glory

Jesus, the hope of our glory

Based on Colossians 1:26-27

In response to the first message delivered at King's Chapel Essex, MD

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Jesus, the hope of our glory,
The only One we need to achieve.
The Gift.
The Power that transcended from above,
Giving us the pleasure of knowing Him,
And the ability to serve Him.

Our hope.
The One who will take us to status and fame,
Yet only His name will be magnified.
Glorified.
And yet somehow we too will attain our desire to be of influence,
Allowing Him to inspire through us.

Jesus.
The Lord God.
Giver of all good things,
Able to perform over and beyond our expectations.
My imagination wanders to a place where we explode in our giftings,
Uplifting our dreams and all the while using His power to impact the masses;
A place where we become great!
Don’t underestimate His supernatural capabilities:
His ability to exalt such lowly things,
As a struggling young adult trying to make ends meet…

What a wonder it would be to become a vehicle of greatness!
Being endowed with wisdom to restrain from lavishness and foolishness;
Instead to invest and save, invest and save, until one day, no debt left to pay...

One day,
A person known for integrity and grace,
A woman perhaps…yet as Moses the same
Her face.
One look at her face and we know she’s been there…
The glow.
Yes, the glory found in His presence
The essence of His Divine Abode,
One look and we wonder where we’ve been all these years…

The Glory,
The hope of our glory
The One who will make us who we want to be,
The One who will take our fleshly desires and purify,
Making us useable vessels.

Christ in us.
In us!
The mystery,
The Secret Thing,
That if we would partake,
Will lead us on to a land so prosperous and abundant,
We wouldn’t know what to do.

The mystery hid from ages past,
Revealed to us,
That we may see and break free and from obscurity finally be,
One who affects our generation,
And progresses to wealth from devastation,
And impacts the very nations,
Then GIVES lavishly—WOO! Exclamation!

In Christ alone we trust
As all else will turn to dust.
Let His power flow through us.
Jesus,
The hope of our glory.

Take my world apart

From www.jrbell.com

I used to render a powerful lyrical expression in dance ministry to a song called Worlds Apart by Jars of Clay. This piece is in response.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Take my world apart

Darkness settles
Where is the light?
When ever did I lose my sight?
Once in the glory of Your redeeming life
Life...It has left my being
I long to be near Your gleaming
Face-as if You've turned from me
Unable to bear the looks of sin upon me

Sin.
What a tricky thing
I'm out I'm in
I'm spinning in sin
What an awfully terrible mess I’m in!

I plead
I beg on my knees
Father God, deliver me!
I need Your strength to restore
I know I've been here once before
Again I need Your hand to lead
Father God, deliver me!
Unlock the promise You have in store
For I gave my life to Christ before
But I got entangled in that which so easily besets
Begets regrets. In debt. Inept.

Must I pledge my life and count all loss?
Should I bear the burden and carry my cross?
Whatever it takes whatever the cost
Father God, take my world apart!
Father God, Take my world apart!
