March of Dimes Awards Grant to Lyrics by tia in order to Improve the Health of Mothers and Babies in Baltimore, Maryland

(Baltimore, MD, January 18, 2014)--The March of Dimes Maryland National Capital Area Chapter has awarded a grant to Lyrics by tia, LLC to support the new and innovative Perinatal Edutainment Project that is aimed at underserved maternal and child health needs here in Baltimore, Maryland. This initiative will provide emphasis on perinatal education via fun & games in the baby shower-style setting. Perinatal education will be reinforced to parents and introduced to their family and friends, which can potentially promote better choices by parents and improve health behavior. This grant is one of many that the March of Dimes awards in pursuit of its mission to prevent birth defects and infant mortality.

"We will use the March of Dimes grant as seed money to meet our objective of providing expectant mothers with pertinent keys from their prenatal care, while highlighting those important health messages for her close family and friends," said Taiwo I. Ajao, MPH, Owner and Lead Outreach Specialist. "We are grateful to those volunteers who support the March of Dimes by participation in events like March for Babies and who donate in other ways. That participation and those donations make this grant possible," she said.

Lyrics by tia (which has a core focus on inspirational writing), will also do business as Together Inspiration Acts, the home of her community outreach; a place where she "Puts Hands and Feet on the Words We Speak". By engaging skilled professionals in the promotion of the health, safety and well-being of mothers, their children and the communities that support them; the company intends to watch inspiration come to life!
