Jesus, the Hope of Our Glory

Jesus, the hope of our glory

Based on Colossians 1:26-27

In response to the first message delivered at King's Chapel Essex, MD

Jesus, the hope of our glory,
The only One we need to achieve.
The Gift.
The Power that transcended from above,
Giving us the pleasure of knowing Him,
And the ability to serve Him.

Our hope.
The One who will take us to status and fame,
Yet only His name will be magnified.
Glorified.
And yet somehow we too will attain our desire to be of influence,
Allowing Him to inspire through us.

Jesus.
The Lord God.
Giver of all good things,
Able to perform over and beyond our expectations.
My imagination wanders to a place where we explode in our giftings,
Uplifting our dreams and all the while using His power to impact the masses;
A place where we become great!
Don’t underestimate His supernatural capabilities:
His ability to exalt such lowly things,
As a struggling young adult trying to make ends meet…

What a wonder it would be to become a vehicle of greatness!
Being endowed with wisdom to restrain from lavishness and foolishness;
Instead to invest and save, invest and save, until one day, no debt left to pay...

One day,
A person known for integrity and grace,
A woman perhaps…yet as Moses the same
Her face.
One look at her face and we know she’s been there…
The glow.
Yes, the glory found in His presence
The essence of His Divine Abode,
One look and we wonder where we’ve been all these years…

The Glory,
The hope of our glory
The One who will make us who we want to be,
The One who will take our fleshly desires and purify,
Making us useable vessels.

Christ in us.
In us!
The mystery,
The Secret Thing,
That if we would partake,
Will lead us on to a land so prosperous and abundant,
We wouldn’t know what to do.

The mystery hid from ages past,
Revealed to us,
That we may see and break free and from obscurity finally be,
One who affects our generation,
And progresses to wealth from devastation,
And impacts the very nations,
Then GIVES lavishly—WOO! Exclamation!

In Christ alone we trust
As all else will turn to dust.
Let His power flow through us.
Jesus,
The hope of our glory.
