Here's a piece I wrote for my Mother a few years ago. Mommy, I love you and appreciate you. Now that I have a child of my own this is still all that I can say.
ALL THAT I CAN SAY
Nine months in the womb…well, six months for us
With the weight of the world upon you, for there were four of us
Yet you did the Will of God and trained us the right way
Thank you, Mommy, is all that I can say
Through trails and difficulties we were all part of the test
And though things were hard, you knew that God was always present
You’ve been faithful to God even to this day
Thank you, Mommy, is all that I can say
I faced turmoil in my adolescence and trauma in my youth
Those were trying times even when my emotions were aloof
You stood right by me when others would have run away
Thank you, Mommy, is all that I can say
We are all much older now and have minds of our own
Sometimes we do just what we want ‘cause we’re mature and we have grown
But please continue to lead and guide us no matter what we say
We are grateful Mommy; thank you and Happy Mother’s Day
Love,
tia
