Back to School: Fighting the Lion

I’m going back to school as part of my personal enhancement movement.

What  excites me about going back to school is that I have a whole new perspective on life. School and coursework is meant to teach you about the way the world works, and the knowledge obtained is meant to be applied to life. It is not just a series of tests; it is a way to learn new and interesting concepts that one can use.

What doesn’t excite me about school is the tuition and fees and the challenge it can be to pay them. Also, I’ve had nightmares; those dreams where you appear at the last days of class for a course you never knew you were in, the one you need to graduate!  I never thought I’d be going back to school, so now that I am, failure really scares me...so much so that I am scared to even start.

“There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!” That’s what a lazy person says according to the Bible in Proverbs 22:13 (New Living Translation).

This speaks to me.

And like my Pastor and my mentors have shared, I must start now! Five years will come.  I can be more accomplished and equipped to change my circumstances or I can be at the exact same spot. It’s my choice.
What do you choose? I choose to fight the lions! I’ll share some insight along the way.
