March of Dimes Renews A Grant to Lyrics by tia to Continue her Efforts to Improve the Health of Mothers and Babies in Baltimore, Maryland

(Baltimore, MD, February 1, 2015)--The March of Dimes Maryland National Capital Area Chapter has awarded yet another grant to Lyrics by tia, LLC dba Together Inspiration Acts (TIActs), to continue support of the Perinatal Edutainment Project that was initiated last year. A program aimed at addressing unmet Maternal and Child Health needs here in Baltimore, Maryland, the program successfully provided perinatal education during baby shower-style family events for both English and Spanish-Speaking families.

Via the structure of an incentive-based program paired with a strong evaluation component, the program seeks to improve perinatal knowledge for a client’s entire social network; dispel prevailing myths within communities, and thus promote the health, safety and well-being of mother, child and beyond. This grant is one of many that the March of Dimes awards in pursuit of mission to prevent birth defects and infant mortality.

"We truly used our first year of funding to establish strategic partnerships, integrate the most pressing perinatal knowledge deficits in the City, and understand what works and what doesn’t” says Taiwo I.
