In My Mind's Eye: Oops!

Wifey’s Story

Wifey and Hubby get home on a chilly, wet afternoon. As they walk up the stairs and approach the door Wifey slips and falls right on her tushy. She looks up at Hubby who is holding back laughter. She practically gets up by herself when he crotches down slightly to lift her arm. He straightens his face: “Are you okay, honey?” She snatches her arm from him and limp into the house angrily.

Well in my mind’s eye, this is how it really went down?

Wifey and Hubby get home and she slips. With supersonic speed, Hubby appears beside her! She falls into his arms. She look up at him and exclaims “My hero”. As she admires his rippling muscles, he picks her up and she wraps her arms around his neck. He carries her in and across the threshold just like on their honeymoon. :)

Hubby’s Story

Wifey and Hubby get home on a chilly, wet afternoon. They walk up the stairs and he steps forward, gets the door and holds it open for her. Suddenly she slips and falls right on her tushy. He almost laughed as he imagined it in slow motion. It was funny, for goodness sakes! He asked if she was alright and tried to help her up but she gets all angry, snatches her arm away and limps into the house. She shouldn't blame him because she slipped. She could have held on to the railing. She didn’t even notice that he was opening the door for her. He goes in the house, shaking his head.

He looks down at her and she looks up with an embarrassed smirk on her face. They both laugh. Hubby says “Honey I can’t help imagining that in slow motion”. He demonstrates. She slaps his leg and he helps her up. Hubby says “Does it hurt honey? Don’t worry, I’ll give it a nice massage”. They go in as she swats his hands off of her backside :)
